On their first date, Sharon admitted to Rich that she thought the plaid shirt he was wearing was “ugly.” “I knew then and there this was the woman for me,” Rich says. “Anyone that honest and forthright, especially on a first date, has to be someone worth keeping.” Rich ultimately surprised Sharon with a proposal in front of 250 of their closest friends, and the rest is history. Their careers required them to relocate many times, with stops in San Antonio, St. Louis, New Jersey and Dallas before they settled in the place they loved most—Austin—to start their real estate partnership.
